Trollstigen, Rauma og Norddal, Møre og Romsdal. 850 m.a.s.l.

Trollstigen is one of Norway’s most popular tourist attractions. It was opened in 1936 and has since been upgraded regularly. Latest upgrade was in 2012, when it was built on a new and modern viewpoint. The road is narrow and one should drive with care and consideration for other vehicles. Buses and cars with caravans need much space in the hairpins.

Trollstigen is not among the highest passes in Europe, but despite its moderate height, 850 m.a.s.l., the 11 hairpins are challenging and entertaining. And you start almost from sea level so the climb is considerable.
