Tre Cime di Lavaredo

Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Rifugio Auronzo, Dolomites, Italy. 9 km. 2400 m.a.s.l.

From Cortina ride the SS 48 over Tre Croci (1809 meters) and turn left onto SS 48bis towards Misurina. Coming from the north via Toblach follow SS 51 south to Carbonin and turn left on SS 48bis.

The road up to the Rifugio Auronzo and Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Drei Zinnen in German) starts just west of Misurina at 1750 meters altitude. It is a toll road up to the Rifugio Auronzo located at 2400 meters altitude. The road is entertaining and of good quality. But it can be a lot of traffic so drive carefully.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Drei Zinnen, is one of the Dolomites most distinctive rock formations and a popular area for hiking. Bring hiking boots and set of 3 – 4 – hours to walk around the massif. Besides Rifugio Auronzo there are also other rifugio where you can buy food and drink on your walk.

The trip to Tre Cime di Lavaredo can be combined with the route over Passo di Giau.
